Honey Braised Lamb Shank

Serves 2 person

Ingredient Quantity
Alce Nero organic honey 2 tbsp
Alce Nero extra virgin olive oil 2 tbsp
Lamb shanks 4
Big onion, halved and sliced 1
Garlic, crushed 3 cloves
Chicken stock or water 1/2 liter
Beef stock or water 1/2 liter
Cumin 1 tbsp
Ginger powder 1 tsp
Salt & pepper to taste  
Potatoes, thinly 400g

Honey braised lamb shank

 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan to sear the lamb over high heat. When browned on both sides, add the sliced onion and crushed garlic cloves. Lower heat and sweat the onion and garlic for about 10 minutes.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients, seasoning to taste with salt and pepper. Cover the pan with lid and simmer for about 2 hours. Remove the lamb shanks and add the potatoes. Simmer for 10 minutes or until potatoes are cooked.
